Is dieting easy for you? It can be difficult to decide which diet to go for as they all sound so tempting. There are so many different types of diets you can feel like you are being pulled from pillar to post when trying to decide on a weight loss program and stick to it.

Secret 2 : Cut Out The Junk Food

Most people who diet just cut their calorie intake. Doing this sends a very powerful message to your body that says “DANGER – famine coming” and so your body stores fat so you can get through the lean times. Successful dieters not only reduce their calorie intake, but they also increase their level of activity. They introduce some form of exercise into their everyday activities, which burns off additional calories. Find some type of exercise you like (walking the dog, a martial art, etc) and do it for 20-30 minutes four or five times a week.

Secret 3 : Daily Exercise

If I asked you what you ate yesterday, would you be able to tell me? We learn to shovel food into our mouths more or less automatically. It’s shockingly easy to eat a lot of junk food without every being consciously aware of it. Keep a journal of everything that you eat. Buy a small notebook and carry it around with you, writing down everything you eat. This will help you to realize exactly what you are eating and help you to understand what foods work best for you.

Secret 4 : Food Diary

A significant percentage of dieters have very unrealistic goals with their diet. They suddenly realise that this big event is just around the corner and decide they have to meet an unrealistic weight loss goal. Usually this weight loss goal can only be achieved through amputation! Make sure you set realistic, achievable weight loss goals. If you do not you will dishearten yourself and be setting yourself up for failure.
